Mrs. Shanley

Bonnie Shanley is a JDHS, Gonzaga University, and UAS graduate.  She taught social studies, reading, writing, and math in Kalskag, Alaska from 2003 to 2006 and has been teaching social studies and English at JDHS since 2007.  She loves her current position teaching with the CHOICE program because she is able to work closely with her colleagues and teach the same small group of students two years in a row.  When she's not in her classroom or chasing her three-year-old son, Mrs. Shanley enjoys spending time at her family's Taku River cabin, cooking with her husband, reading, riding her bicycle, and listening to the Beatles.

Mr. Meersman, MAT

Hello, My name is Mike Meersman. I grew up in Belgium and France. I studied human sciences to understand and better the world we live in. I enjoy roaming the outdoors year round, snow, rain or shine, alone or with friends. I like to learn new things, from skiing to operating heavy equipment. I am glad to have the opportunity to be a part of the CHOICE Program to share knowledge and experiences.
